Wolf River Largemouth
There's a lot more to fly
fishing than just trout.  Denis
caught this bucket mouth in
the upper end of  Wolf River,
outside Grand Junction
Tennessee.
Denis Dunderdale - Fly Fishing Guide, Instructor
About Denis Dunderdale
Denis began fly-fishing in Boston more than forty years ago when, inspired by Gadabout Gaddis’
TV show, “The Flying Fisherman”, he purchased his first fly-fishing outfit at a local Western Auto
for twelve dollars.  Denis has since been traveling the globe and fly fishing wherever the
opportunity exists.  His travels have taken him to The Maritime Provinces, Alaska, Greece, The
Bahamas, The Netherlands Antilles, Brazil, Chile, Europe, and of course all over the “Lower Forty-
Eight”.

After moving to Memphis in 1994, Denis served two terms as president of Mid-South Fly Fishers,
the largest stand-alone fly fishing club in the America, perhaps the World.  He also directed their
educational programs and served on the production staff of their award-winning book, “Home
Waters”.

Denis is a Federation of Fly Fishers (FFF) Certified Casting Instructor, Serves on the Board of
Governors of the FFF Guides Association, and was the Guide and Logistics Chair for the 2005
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital charity event “Hooked on a Cure Fly Fishing Celebrity
Classic”.

In 2003 Denis took early retirement from corporate life in order to develop his fly fishing guide
service, make bamboo fly rods, and pursue trophy trout on the White and Norfolk Rivers of
Arkansas.  Denis and his wife, Emilie, live in “Trout Capitol USA”, Cotter, Arkansas.
